Molly Brandenberger
As a co-host of Oh Gross!, Molly first met Jennie in Atlanta during their time in the pop R&B group InTrygue, where they saw colossal success opening up and touring with bands such as N’Sync, Back Street Boys, and New Kids on the Block.
Molly graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Public Relations and coordinated major events at Arthur Andersen for many years. She has also worked with the White House and foreign dignitaries as the Conference Concierge at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in Washington, DC. Molly first met Kara when Kara was launching her handbag line, Solas Fashion, coordinating red-carpet events in the Mid-Atlantic and South.
She is co-owner of Lice Ladies and has helped it expand and franchise. For the past 15 years, Molly has worked with patients dealing with Lice outbreaks in multiple clinics across the US. Now, she brings her stories and expertise to Oh Gross!, a space where everyone can openly talk about life's quirkiest challenges and think creatively about how to manage icky moments.
Jennie Lasater
Jennie is Oh Gross’s resident scientist, co-host, and the brains behind Lice Ladies. She founded the company over 15 years ago to provide safe, non-toxic treatments for human head lice. Armed with a Master of Science in Biology from Brenau University, Jennie has made it her mission to help families deal with insect infestations in a pesticide-resistant environment. She has even developed her own successful product line to treat lice safely at home.
Jennie (along with her business partner Molly) expanded Lice Ladies into a franchised business in 2015, and they continue developing new ideas to eliminate misinformation surrounding head lice.
Jennie and Kara became fast friends in 2011 when Lice Ladies began working with Kara and her production company, Motiv8 Media. They have since created several viral video campaigns educating the public with facts and laughter to remove stigmas.
A proud Atlanta native, Jennie initially met Molly during their days in the pop R&B group InTrygue, where Jennie was the lead singer. When the group disbanded, Jennie kept the name InTrygue and became a solo artist, reaching #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the song “Want Me”.
Jennie is also an expert Medical Witness who hopes to continue using her science background to break down the taboos around "gross” things like bugs and create a community where we can all share, laugh, and learn from all critters.
Kara Kurcz
Kara Kurcz is the host and co-founder of Oh Gross!, a fast-growing podcast that turns “gross” topics into funny, honest conversations that bust medical myths and remove shame around awkward questions. Alongside co-hosts Jennie and Molly, Kara uses her sharp storytelling instincts and disarming humor to turn taboo into teachable—and laughable—moments.
An award-winning investigative producer and director, Kara launched her career at America’s Most Wanted at 21, helping solve cases and reunite families. Over two decades, she’s produced more than 800 hours of crime and live television, including hit series like Mark of a Serial Killer (Oxygen), Live PD (A&E), and Chasing the Cure (TBS/TNT). She specializes in true crime, family, and health content.
Kara is also a health coach, inspired by her husband Brian’s battle with colon cancer, and has made frequent appearances on outlets including The Today Show, MSNBC and Fox News. She founded Motiv8 Media, and previously co-founded Solas Fashion, a luxury handbag brand featured on red carpets and in top magazines.
Originally from suburban Chicago and a proud University of Iowa grad, Kara’s mission is simple: normalize the weird stuff, support honest conversations, and make life’s messes way less embarrassing.
