Brian’s Visual Meditation for Healing: The Ash and the Army

This guided meditation was inspired by Brian’s healing journey during his colon cancer treatment. It combines visualization, breathwork, and somatic awareness to help the body and mind work together in healing.

Step-by-Step Meditation Script:

  1. Settle In:
Stand, sit, or lie in a quiet space (Brian would do this meditation in the shower, too!). Close your eyes and take three deep, calming breaths. Inhale peace, exhale tension.

  2. Visualize the Illness:
Picture the affected area as a dark mass with a surrounding texture like wet black ash or ink smudge. Don’t judge it; just see it clearly.

  3. Transform the Image:
With each breath, imagine the ash surrounding the mass floating away. Like a campfire, the black begins to crumble and drift, and the mass begins to lighten, first to gray, then to soft pink.

  4. Release It:
Watch the ash particles rise, drift, and disappear into the air. Say to yourself: “I release what no longer serves me.”

  5. Activate Your Inner Army:
Bring your attention to your thymus (behind your sternum). Gently tap the center of your sternum three times. Now imagine an army of glowing white T-cells scanning your body like searchlights.

  6. Direct the Energy:
See this army finding any trace of disease and directing a focused light toward it. It shrinks, fades, floats off—until there’s only calm.

  7. Seal with Grace:
Visualize a warm, protective light filling your body, from your feet to your head. Feel safe. Feel healed. Whisper: “I accept healing.”

  8. Close the Practice:
Take a final deep breath and bring your awareness back to the room. Wiggle your fingers and toes. When ready, open your eyes.
